Craft Beyond Borders brings Delvaux’s artisans and designers into dialogue with masters across the world. 



The story begins in Japan, its earliest historical market, where Delvaux meets the masters of gilding in Kanazawa. 
What resonates is the discipline and precision required to handle gold leaf, its fragility, its exactness, and to translate this into leather through motifs that mark points of junction, punctuated by D-shaped studs reminiscent of precious bindings.

A second encounter draws from obi weaving traditions, interpreting their complexity and sensitivity through the Maison’s own codes. These conversations are followed by an exploration in Flanders, where Delvaux engages with the intricate art of Flemish tapestry, reimagining natural scenes in leather.

Through these exchanges, Delvaux constructs an ongoing dialogue that extends beyond its own heritage. A shared language emerges through gesture: the hand as a universal tool, connecting artisans across cultures.
